Last post, just about a week ago, was about the community preview for the next release.  Today I'm glad to announce that PHP-Ext 0.8.3 is ready for download. This new release includes a bunch of bug fixes, mostly reported by good fellows out there who are willing to support this project and make it grow, thanks everybody.  It also includes some new widgets people had been asking for and together with them some new samples. Among other, you will see TreePanel, EditorGrid, MessageBox and some missing layouts.

Its been a while since last release, now 0.8.3 its almost ready!  This new version includes various bug fixes, but mostly it has many new widgets and classes.  Among these are Card Layout, Tab Layout, Border Layout, Viewport, Grid Plugin, Editable Grid and Grid Editors, Property Grid, TreePanel, ProgressBar and MessageBox.  New examples were added too for each of the new widgets, together with other useful examples like Grouping Grids and JSON based Grids.

It's been a while since version 0.8.2 was released, and not much has happened. I apologize, I've been very busy at work and haven't touch a bit of code. Well, now I little more time to breath and have been checking out the bugs and issues reported at the Discussion Group, by the way, thanks to all the people contributing with questions and answers as well, specially to Matthias for the hard work on testing the library. The next version is not ready yet but there are quiet a few bug fixes and some new stuff on the SVN trunk if you wish to update your source, I strongly recommend it. Among mayor revisions:

  • Standard Form Submit
  • Grid Grouping Revised
  • Editable Grid revised, with Records and Views

  • Include path bug for unix based systems fixed

Start from revision #11. There is plenty to read, and a lot of things fixed.

Just a month after the first release, version 0.8.2 its ready. I'm sorry to tell there is no more support for PHP4 since the whole project was refactored to comply with PHP 5 Strict Standards and Zend Framework Coding Standards. This means getters and setters, access levels for properties and methods, among other nice changes.
